Information Gathering & Analysis
Financial Modeling Agent takes a couple of minutes to find information in public sources, our internal databases, and paywalled systems (to which we have access). Once information is collected, it is thoroughly analyzed
Review Modelling Plan
Once the analysis is finished, the agent comes back to you with a detailed plan on how to model every single line of financial statements. You can either simply confirm it or easily change any line to different modelling logic and submit for further processing
Model Building & Assumptions
The model is built in seconds and then Financial Modeling Agent works on deriving the most relevant assumptions (by analyzing historical trends, industry dynamics, earnings call transcripts, news, MD&A etc.) and puts those assumptions to the model. This usually takes another couple of minutes
Information Gathering & Analysis
After this, you can easily download an Excel (LibreOffice/Google Sheets) file with a full-scale detailed model containing three statements with detailed modelling of every line, and your preferred valuation analysis (DCF, IRR, LBO, AVP...). All this in minutes with minimum effort and confidence that your model has no linking errors, is well-formatted, auditable, and incorporates industry best practices
Iterate & Refine
If you would like to implement changes to the model, you can do so using our chat interface or our plugins (in test mode)

Quick answers to the questions that come up most
Currently, the agent runs in your browser, mimicking a standard spreadsheet and displaying all outputs there. We're working hard to make this web-based spreadsheet as functional as possible. We're also developing an Excel plugin for users who prefer to work directly in Excel
Like any AI product, there is always some risk of "hallucinations," but we've designed our solution to minimize this. That required certain trade-offs (which we offset with other techniques), because we believe accuracy is critical in model building. As a result, our approach delivers one of the most accurate AI products available. We also make the models very transparent, so users can easily audit them once they receive the first draft
Absolutely. You can modify any assumptions and any processing line — you're always in control. Even though it may look like Financial Modeling Agent does everything, in reality the agent makes suggestions and only builds after you confirm or adjust them. You have full control over all inputs and can adapt them to your own views and preferences
The agent itself typically takes a couple of minutes to download data, analyze it, and propose an action plan with suggestions, and another couple of minutes to determine an initial set of assumptions. In total, the agent's work usually takes about 5–10 minutes
However, the full process from start to finish may take longer, depending on your preferences and your knowledge of the company or companies you model. If you're doing fundamental analysis on an unfamiliar company, expect to spend a couple of hours (depending on company complexity and desired depth) understanding the business and refining your assumptions. This part can't really be automated, but the agent still saves you days or even weeks of manual work
Financial Modeling Agent supports:
- DCF (Discounted Cash Flow) using both FCFF and FCFE
- LBO (Leveraged Buyout)
- IRR (Internal Rate of Return)
- Analysis at Various Prices (AVP)
- Other share-related metrics
We're continually adding new options based on user feedback and can consider custom valuation approaches. You can also combine multiple approaches within a single model
Yes. The agent is agnostic to company type and geography — public or private, US or non-US. However, there are some practical differences.
For US public companies (and non-US companies filing with the SEC), we can reliably source data from multiple providers with high confidence in data quality. For non-public and non-SEC-reporting companies, financials and other reports are not always easily accessible or machine-readable.
We're training our agents to retrieve these financials automatically, but for now we rely on users to upload such data to avoid errors and frustration. We expect to soon offer highly precise automatic data retrieval for public companies. For private companies, users will still need to upload data, since it's usually impossible to obtain it without internal access
